Surviving the Toxic Workplace

  • Course
  • 7 Lessons

For employees who can't just quit — dealing with a toxic boss, a blame-culture team, chronic gaslighting, or a workplace that keeps moving the goalposts. Built by a dual-licensed FNP-BC/PMHNP-BC, this course combines the physiology of chronic workplace stress with the psychology of gaslighting, scapegoating, and blame culture — plus practical, tactical scripts and documentation strategies you can use tomorrow morning.

Companion Workbook (Download)

Module 1: Naming the Toxicity

A clear framework for identifying specific toxic patterns — gaslighting, scapegoating, favoritism, shifting goalposts — so you can stop second-guessing your own perception and start responding to what's actually happening, not just how it feels.

Module 1: Naming the Toxicity

Module 2: Protecting Your Nervous System

Practical tools for regulating your body's stress response before and after a hard interaction, so the toxicity at work stops following you home and showing up in your sleep, your health, and your relationships.

Module 2: Protecting Your Nervous System

Module 3: The Documentation & Self-Protection Playbook

What to document, how to document it, and why it matters — a simple system for keeping a clear record of incidents that protects you if things escalate, without turning your daily life into a legal case file.

Module 3: The Documentation & Self-Protection Playbook

Module 4: Boundary and Communication Scripts

Word-for-word scripts for setting boundaries with a difficult boss or coworker, responding to blame or manipulation in the moment, and de-escalating tense exchanges without losing your composure or your job.

Module 4: Boundary and Communication Scripts

Module 5: Navigating Politics Without Losing Yourself

How to stay professionally safe amid office politics and difficult personalities — including "gray rock" and other low-engagement strategies — without becoming someone you don't recognize in the process.

Module 5: Navigating Politics Without Losing Yourself

Module 6: Your Stay-or-Go Plan

A clear-eyed decision framework for evaluating whether this job is one to keep managing or one to leave, plus a 90-day plan for either path, so the decision comes from clarity instead of burnout or fear.

Family Nurse Practitioner & Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I'm dual-licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, which lets me approach toxic workplace dynamics from both a clinical and a practical angle: what chronic workplace stress does to your body, and what to actually say and document when you're dealing with a difficult boss or a blame-culture team. I built this course after seeing how often workplace toxicity gets dismissed as "just office politics," when it's actually driving real anxiety, sleep problems, and burnout. My goal here is to give you the same grounded, tactical guidance I'd walk a patient through, so you can protect your health and your job at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before enrolling.

Is this the same as therapy, legal advice, or HR consulting?

No. This course is educational, offering frameworks, nervous-system tools, and communication scripts — it isn't therapy, legal advice, or a substitute for consulting an employment attorney or HR/compliance professional about your specific situation.

Do I need to already be planning to leave my job to take this course?

Not at all — this is built for people who can't or don't want to quit right now and need tools to protect their health and standing while they're still there.

How long do I have access?

Lifetime access, so you can return to the scripts and documentation tools whenever a new situation comes up.

What if I'm already working with a therapist, coach, or attorney about my workplace situation?

This course is designed to complement that work, not replace it — many people use it alongside those relationships.

What if I'm in crisis right now?

Please don't wait on this course — contact your provider, a crisis line, or emergency services right away.

A Note From Your Instructor

This course is educational content created by a licensed nurse practitioner with psychiatric-mental health expertise, not individualized legal, human resources, or medical/psychiatric advice or care. Enrolling does not create a provider-patient or attorney-client relationship. It's designed to help you understand the psychological and physiological toll of a toxic workplace and apply general, practical strategies — it is not a substitute for consultation with an employment attorney or your HR department on matters of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or wrongful termination, which vary by jurisdiction and situation. If you are experiencing harassment, discrimination, or a safety threat at work, or if workplace stress is significantly affecting your mental health — including thoughts of self-harm — please contact your HR department, an employment attorney, your medical or mental health provider, or a crisis line rather than relying on this course alone.
